Lynton Close
Extension, Internal & External Alterations
We approached this project with a profound sense of pride and responsibility, we embraced the unique challenge presented by our client, whose worsening disability required thoughtful adjustments to enhance accessibility and daily living. Our mission was to create a space that not only catered to specific needs but also exuded warmth and aesthetic appeal.
In response, we skillfully crafted an 8m x 4m extension, seamlessly integrating a new kitchen and a downstairs bedroom with a thoughtfully designed wet room ensuite. A key focus was to make the entire downstairs area easily accessible, achieved through the widening of doorways and the creation of level thresholds at both front and rear entrances.
To infuse the kitchen space with an abundance of natural light, we incorporated French doors, vaulted the ceiling, and installed a generously sized Velux window. The new shaker-style kitchen, featuring pristine white quartz worktops, was strategically designed to reflect and amplify the incoming natural light, creating an inviting and airy atmosphere.
Practicality and style converged in the choice of materials and fittings. LVT flooring graced both the kitchen and bedroom, ensuring durability and a cohesive aesthetic. The wet room, designed for easy maintenance, boasted aqua panels and non-slip tiles on the floor. Thoughtful touches, such as lower shower controls and strategically placed grab rails, contributed to a functional yet elegant design.
Ultimately, our goal was to deliver a user-friendly space that seamlessly integrated accessibility features without compromising on the overall look and feel of the home. In achieving this balance, we not only met but exceeded the expectations of our client, creating a space that is both purposeful and aesthetically pleasing.
